This week started out with me on the hunt for chai tea. I wished I loved coffee, because I LOVE how it smells, however, I am sensitive to caffeine & coffee just makes my stomach hurt. I have absolutely fallen in love with chai tea, and tea in general.

During my research, I found out about High Garden Tea House & Apothecary. It’s in East Nashville at 935 Woodland St. It’s just a little ways down from Five Points Pizza, The Soda Parlor and several other yummy eats & treats!

As soon as I walked in, it reminded me of the tv show Grimm and their Spice and Tea shop. Very Earthy and medicinal. Lots of loose leaf teas, spices, and a section to make your own products. They even have kombucha tea on tap (check out the wooden handles!)

I absolutely loved this tea house and can’t wait to return! Everyone was so friendly and extremely knowledgeable.

L-R: Evergreen Chai & Mint Mocha Matte (oat milk in the little pig dispenser. The timer is there to let you know when you remove the loose chai tea)

Jason & I headed to Love, Peace and Pho, at 2112 8th Ave. South. They are located across from Zannie’s Comedy Club. There is limited parking/street parking, however, you can park at the Dollar General & get your ticket validated if you spend $20 or more.

L-R: Sizzling crispy crepe made with rice flour, and tofu fresh rolls with peanut sauce. I completely forgot about the fish sauce that came on the side of the crepe, and decided to dunk my fork in it to see what the “sauce” tasted like. Whoops!!
L-R: Veggie Buddha Bowl with noodles & salt & pepper shrimp with rice.
Shops on 12th Ave South

If you head over to 12th Ave. South, you will find a LOT of places to eat & shop. Jeni’s Ice Cream & Five Daughter’s Bakery, as well as Firepot Tea, Franklin Juice, Edley’s BBQ, Draper James, and more!

I hope you’ve enjoyed week six in our Nashville summer series. Remember, it doesn’t cost much, and you never know what you will find. So get out, and become a tourist in your hometown!©
