The morning of Katie’s Downtown Murfreesboro, TN senior session greeted us with clouds and an unexpected gusts of wind—so much wind! But Katie’s mom was a total rockstar, equipped with all the right tools to keep Katie’s hair looking flawless. In addition to brushing, re-brushing, and expertly fixing hair like a pro, she was also on stand-by for any make-up touch-ups. ! At times, we even had a little system going: Mom would brush and hold Katie’s hair down, re-brush, fix it again, and I’d rapid-fire shoot to capture those perfect, non-windblown moments! Despite our best efforts, some of those wild, hair-tousled looks didn’t make the cut—but we will forever relive them in our minds and enjoy a good laugh!
We started on the square, checking out a pink-striped wall, an American Flag Mural (which was a MUST-capture since this was Katie’s first year to be able to vote in a Presidential Election), and the hometown mural of everything happening in Murfreesboro, TN. Then we made our way to the Center for the Arts building. This building used to be the old Linebaugh Library. I love the light colored stone and towering archways. After the square, we headed over to The Fountains at Gateway for a quick outfit change and a chance to throw some fall leaves. As the sun was setting, Katie changed into the cutest bright lavender dress. It looked great with her jewelry and ankle boots. I’m so glad we were able to capture some of the colorful leaves during this time.
We had such a blast, filled with laughter and joyful moments throughout her senior session! It was exciting to explore Katie’s hometown, revisiting all the cool mural spots that held meaning for her. Seeing how much the area has transformed since I moved away is incredible. So many new restaurants, shops, and buildings have popped up, and the traffic has certainly increased!
Katie, you are a true and precious gift! Your vibrant spirit and sweet personality were a delight to capture, and I cherished every moment spent with you. I can’t wait for you to see these photos—they truly reflect the amazing person you are!
Take a look to see just how much fun we had!
