Weather in Tennessee can be unpredictable. Actually, that’s an understatement. You can have all four seasons in just one week, and that’s exactly what happened the week of Noemi & Coleby’s winter wedding. We had beautiful 68 degrees, heavy downpours, flooding, and then a white blanket of snow covered Middle Tennessee just 24 hours before the ceremony. I kept checking the weather about every few hours and had spoken to Noemi about what the alternate plan was incase it started to rain. Thankfully, the skies cleared and the temperature warmed up enough, to have a beautiful winter wedding day!
I can’t say enough good things about Noemi and Coleby and their families. There was no lack of love shown for them, and this day was all about family and celebrating! Relatives traveled great distances (even coming from Mexico!), just to see these two get married. I’ve known Coleby’s mom for a while as she was once a co-worker. I enjoyed chatting with her in the hallways about the wedding, but seeing her tear up, made me tear up! I’m a big crier anyway, so it doesn’t take much! Just having those conversations with Tracy and hearing her talk about how much love she and Chris, her husband, had for the both of them. I knew this day would be extra special!
Their celebration was held at The Barn at Sycamore Farms. An event space located just minutes from Nashville. The grounds were perfectly manicured and the interior was beautiful. Misty, their wedding coordinator did an outstanding job making sure everything on their big day flowed smoothly.
Noemi’s bridesmaids wrote such sweet letters to her. They circled around her and read them, trying their hardest not to cry (OK, tears were fanned away)
Noemi’s grandparents took a bus from Mexico to see their grand daughter get married. They arrived at 4:00AM, three days before she said “I do!” How wonderful it was for them to be able to travel so far to see her get married!
They didn’t speak English, and I didn’t speak Spanish, except for a handful of words I knew. I completely butchered what little Spanish I spoke to them and I’m pretty sure it had a ridiculous southern twang to it! But it didn’t matter. Love has no language barrier.
How could you not have a firetruck when the groom is a firefighter?
I love it when traditions are incorporated into wedding celebrations & Noemi & Coleby’s wedding was no different. El Baile de la Vibora (the Sea Snake dance) is a traditional Mexican tradition, taken from a children’s game. The dance represents strength of the newly married couple as they go through life’s challenges together. The bride and groom stand on chairs and form an arch to which everyone passes through, holding hands and running faster and faster as the music plays! Everyone was laughing and running and having a wonderful time!
A very special thank you to all of the vendors involved. This day wouldn’t have come together without you!
