When Morgan and I chatted about her vision for her senior images, she told me she wanted to incorporate her time playing softball, as well as the buildings and landscape of the Downtown Nashville skyline. It sounded like so much fun! I LOVE it when my seniors include their hobbies, sports, or things they cherish. Morgan and I met at her softball field in the early afternoon. She wanted images in her uniform as softball has been an important part of her high school career. During her session we chatted about the possibility of her playing for the university she would be attending. The following week Morgan was offered an athletic scholarship to play softball! During our time together we talked about her plans for college and what she would be studying. Did you know that Morgan wants to be a Trauma Nurse?! Keep reading to hear about Morgan’s softball field & downtown Nashville senior session.
Morgan spent the last four years on this softball field. She’s celebrated the greatest wins and some of the most challenging losses. Throughout her high school athletic career, she made new friendships, guided younger players, and stood out as a leader on the team. I couldn’t think of a better way to kick off her senior session than at the one place she loves most!
After we left Morgan’s high school, we made our way downtown. A warm sunny day in April meant hundreds of people flocking to downtown Nashville. Yummy restaurants, several bachelorette parties, a wedding, and a Predators game, meant the bridge area was PACKED! We had to be strategic to not get lots of visitors in our shots. The sun had just dropped behind The Batman Building, which gave us such beautiful light. After hanging out on the bridge, Morgan changed into the cutest white dress, and we made our way over to Cumberland Park. I love this location as you can capture the skyline and bridge in the shot, and not worry about it being packed! Although we did have to wait on the bachelorette girls.
After Cumberland Park, we made our way through all of the Nashville traffic, and finished at Centennial Park. In the park is a life size replica of the Parthenon in Greece. There is a museum inside where a gold statue of Athena is holding Nike in her hand. The columns are gritty and sandy in color, which makes for interesting texture in pictures. Did you know that when the sun sets and the light hits the columns at Centennial Park, they take on a pink tone? That’s exactly what they looked like as the sun faded behind the trees. We were able to squeak out a few more shots before the sun completely disappeared.
Morgan, I have loved having you on my team! I am so excited for your adventures in nursing and wish you all the best as you continue your passion of playing softball!
