I was SO EXCITED when Ellie told me I would be going to their private 100+ acre farm for her senior session. She told me it had rolling hills, a creek, lots of trees, and big open fields. I kept an eye on the weather as rain was in the forecast leading up to her session. I get super excited when my seniors tell me their vision is a private farm and lake! There are always so many places to explore! Driving up to the farm, the sky was cloudy and the rain was intermittent. I was hopeful the weather would hold off for Ellie’s senior session, and it did for most of it. Even though the weather was overcast, the light was even all around, which makes for some great images!
I was so excited when she brought her sweet dog Daisy May to be in her senior pictures! She was so cute and spunky! Ellie started off in a cozy pink sweater and white pants, then changed to a ruched white off the shoulder dress. I love that she incorporated her high school letter jacket and cross-country shoes with her dress! After a few shots at the bridge, we headed to the open field and creek bed. I LOVED her red shoes and red hat! They popped against the gray sky and creek bed. We were having SO MUCH FUN! Ellie is a natural in front of the camera! When we headed into the open field, it became dark and cold quickly, which caused us to move her last 30 minutes to the following day at the lake. This actually worked out great- with the exception of it being REALLY cold! Keep reading to see some of my favorite images.
I can’t get over how blue Ellie’s eyes are!
This was my last image before the temperature took a nose-dive and a massive dark cloud rolled in, causing the light to get dark quickly. Because we lost so much light within seconds, and Ellie still had 30 minutes left in her session, we decided to meet up the next day.
The next day I met Ellie & her mom at the lake. I had never photographed here, and because it was mid-November, I knew it wouldn’t be busy. I just didn’t realize how COLD it would be! The cold weather didn’t stop Ellie from having FUN! You would never know how cold she was, as she was smiling the entire time! We started at the water’s edge with her sweet doggie Daisy May. After a few shots at the water, we moved over to a grove of trees. I loved the giant tree with colored leaves. It made her just pop with her blonde hair and denim jacket. Ellie had so much fun throwing the leaves (and her hat too!) Keep scrolling to see Ellie’s lake session.
We had a pop of sun and I was so happy that we still had lots of colorful leaves.
This tree still had lots of color, so we had to stay here for the last 15 minutes.
Ellie- you have been such a joy to work with, and I hope you have enjoyed being on my team!
