This week I headed over to Lipscomb University. I have such WONDERFUL memories when I attended there (that’s where Jason & I met, but we didn’t go on or 1st date until 12 years later!). They always had neat shops and locally owned eateries across the street, however, places have come and gone in the years since I’ve been there. One place that I was excited to try was The Well Coffeehouse. There are several locations around Nashville, but the one I visited was located at 4002 Granny White Pike.

This coffeehouse is all about giving back! If you check out their about page, you’ll see just how they are making an impact on the lives of others by building wells and bringing clean water to those in need.

From their website:

We are a coffeehouse with a bold vision to make a difference in both our local and global communities.
As a missional coffeehouse focused on sustainable solutions to poverty, we turn profits into hope. We do this by creating a product you love, serving you with a smile, and giving all of our profits to people in need.

We love coffee. We love people even more.

Although they had a chai tea (my favorite!!), I chose a blueberry, lavender, basil latte, as it was seasonal, and wouldn’t be around much longer. (That and I LOVE anything with basil!)

It was delicious! I could have easily had 3 more! It’s a good thing I didn’t because I failed to remember that lattes have caffeine in them & I am pretty sensitive to caffeine! Whoops!!

John the Gardener – blueberry, lavender, basil latte

Just over a mile down the road is Sevier Park. It’s a great place to take your dogs, children, and to enjoy a walk after a yummy meal! 12 South runs right into it, and there are lots of delicious eats and treats along 12 South.

In the summertime, you can also find food trucks parked there, and if you see The Peach Truck stand, you HAVE to get some!!! They are the BEST peaches around!

Finally, on my way home, I stopped in to The Nashville Farmers Market, located at 900 Rosa L. Parks Blvd.

In years past, they allowed vendors from outside the state to set up, however, I believe that rule has changed, and they only allow vendors from the state of Tennessee. I was pretty bummed out when I heard about the change, and I’m not sure if the rule still applies.

Inside, there are lots of different places to eat, grab a local gift, and you can even pull up to a wine bar!

I didn’t think a Tiger’s Blood snow cone would mix very well with a lavender basil latte.

I hope you’ve enjoyed week seven in our Nashville summer series, and are inspired to get out & check out your local places. Remember, it doesn’t cost much, and you never know what you will find. So get out, and become a tourist in your hometown!©

xoxo,

Neely
