Groom and groomsmen sharing a laugh on a wedding day.

Here are Five wedding tips for grooms.

Don’t arrive hungover

I get it, you want to hang out with your guys, play video games, relive the good times, and eat copious amounts of food, but please don’t overindulge in alcoholic beverages that make you feel terrible the next day. Trust me, I’ve seen grooms and groomsmen who showed up and not only did they look hungover, but also, they were STILL intoxicated.

Stay hydrated

Please make sure to drink plenty of water or ad in electrolyte drinks during the hot summers. Dehydration can lead to headaches, feeling yucky, and overall grouchiness. No one wants to be grouchy and miserable on their wedding day!

Don’t wait until the day of the wedding, to learn to fold a pocket square or tie a tie.

Picture this, six guys leaning over a table with YouTube pulled up, and their pocket squares laid out on the table learning how to fold it. If I could give my number ONE tip for grooms; don’t wait until five minutes before you are scheduled to take pictures, to pull up YouTube, and watch a video on how to fold a pocket square and/or tie a bow tie. This is the biggest thing that eats into the groom’s photo time. My suggestion would be to practice the night before when you all are hanging out together. That way, if you forget, one of your buddies can quickly help you out.

Keep your area clean

I know that wedding days have LOTS of moving parts! You are anxious, nervous, excited, and ready to celebrate with your family and friends. Your photographer will be popping in to snap some getting-ready shots, but before he/she does, make sure your groom’s suite is tidy. This means taking plastic bags, wire hangers, clothes, bags and backpacks, etc… and moving them out of the way. If your getting-ready area is small, you can put them in a chair out of the way or tuck them behind something. Toss empty cans and food wrappers.

Relax and have FUN!

Your wedding day will be a whirlwind! Take a moment to breathe, relax, and have FUN! Your day will be over before you know it. By utilizing these wedding tips for grooms, and enjoying those moments with loved ones, your day will be magical no matter what.
